This roofgarden in Rotterdam belongs to an owner’s association (VvE) which is eager to add more greenery to their roof to make it more pleasant and sustainable.
We chose an organic visual language to connect the Nieuwe Maas with the rooftop. The chosen trees and plants are connected with the flora of the Island of Brienenoord.
This roofterrace is a meeting point for the residents, with a shaded dining are/ bbq place, multiple heightened planters with sitting elements and lots of edible plants to attract more use of the terrace.
Next step is to get funding to execute this project, which will take up to 3 years.
